Competitions
Each year the Seattle Swing Dance Club holds a Jack & Jill competition series for novice, intermediate, and advanced dancers. The contest year runs from April (usually just after Easter Swing) to March (usually just before Easter Swing). Contestants are given points for placing 1st through 5th. The top five lead and follow contestants with the highest number of points for the contest year are invited back to the finals (there are other criteria – please see the contest rules). If you have any questions regarding our competitions or the rules please contact Lynn Gross our Chief Judge.

Competition Rules
When you make the decision to compete the first thing you should do is read the rules. Every competition is a little bit different so to be sure you aren’t penalized for a rule violation read the rules carefully.
Our competitions draw dancers from the entire Northwest (Vancouver, Portland, and Spokane) and are a great way to prepare for competing at Seattle Easter Swing or other national conventions. Current judges on the committee include many long-time SSDC club members and respected instructors with years of training who have provided private lessons, classes and workshops for many dancers in the community.
