2010/2011 Jack & Jill Competition Series

The Jack & Jill competition series for Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced level dancers starts in April each year and concludes in March the (just before Easter Swing) the following year. Competition can be a great way to increase your level of dance and prepare to compete at Easter Swing.

Four qualifying rounds of competition are held for each level during the year with points being awarded for 1^st through 5^th place.  The five eligible leads and follows with the most points scored during the contest year will be invited back to compete in the finals for cash prizes!!  You MUST compete in at least two competitions during the contest year and be an SSDC club member to be eligible for finals.

Novice – April 18, July 18*, August 1, November 7, Finals March 6, 2011

Intermediate – April 18,  August 1, August 15*, November 7, Finals March 6, 2011

Advanced – May 16, July 18, October 3, January 16, Finals March 20, 2011

Other competitions

SSDC also holds other competitions that are not included in the J&J series.

• Open Strictly Swing – Jun 20, 2010 & Jan 16, 2010. Open to all levels and you get to choose your partner!
• Open Jackpot J&J – Aug 15, 2010 at the picnic dance.  Open to all levels and has a cash jackpot!
• Open Role J&J – Jun 20, 2010 & Dec 5, 2010.  Either gender can lead or follow and open to all levels.
• Masters J&J – Dec 5th, 2010.  Competitors must be over 50 years of age.
• Open Night Club 2-Step J&J – May 16, 2010 & Oct 3, 2010.  Jack and Jill open to all levels.

For those that have never competed before we offer a first time novice competitor fee $3.00 to encourage you to join in!  Competition fees for SSDC club members are $6.00 and non-members are $8.00.  Sign up at the competition table by 6:30.  Competitions are held at 7:00
