About Luis — Luís Crespo is a competitive U.S. Open Swing Dance Champion in the West Coast Swing community, and can be found teaching at various private dance studios, guest appearing at many workshops nationally and internationally, and on staff (as an instructor and judge) at numerous WSDC and NASDE sanctioned dance conventions.

John Lindo Workshops on May 25th

WHAT: 2 ONE-HOUR WORKSHOPS
WHEN: Saturday, May 25 2013
6:30-7:30 PM and 7:45-8:45 PM
WHERE: Century Ballroom (in West Hall)

WORKSHOPS:
Wrap It Up (6:30-7:30 PM): Learn how to get in and out of intricate, complex, twisty advance patterns.

Move That Body! (7:45-8:45 PM): Learn how to incorporate body isolations and lunges into your West Coast Swing patterns.

$15 per class, or $25 for 2 classes, for SSDC members (and  for Emerald City Hoedown 2013 attendees)
$20 per class for non-members

ABOUT JOHN
After beginning in country-western dance in 1992, John Lindo quickly made his mark on the West Coast Swing circuit by garnering an astonishing number of awards and championships in Jack-and-Jills and Strictly Swings. Some of his First Place awards include the U.S. Open, Grand Nationals, Phoenix Champion of Champions. He is also sought after internationally for his experience and teaching, having traveled to five countries in the past year alone. John currently resides in New Jersey, and is an influential presence in the New York City West Coast Swing scene.

  * NOTE * New for SSDC contests this year, beginning in April, 2013: All WCS contests; J&J’s and SS’s, including points divisions, are gender neutral (i.e. role choice). In points divisions, contestants must stay with one role throughout the contest year. Example: John Swinger dances as a follower in New/Nov and a leader in Int/Adv – no switching back and forth in a single points division. Contestants may switch roles from contest to contest in all other WCS comps. Night Club Two Step contests will not be gender neutral.
