Class descriptions:

1st class  May 9th:   Katie will be teaching Easy and Fun Musicality:She will help decode popular songs of multiple genres,  practicing different musicality strategies.    2nd hour: Learn how to incorporate some easy choreography for practicing proper phrasing technique.  Guaranteed to up you musical game!

2nd class May 16th:  Jim Minty 2 part series LEARN SHAG:  This is another form of swing to incorporate in your WCS:you can “SHAG” with your partner in you WCS dance even if your partner can’t SHAG

3rd class May 23rd:  Allie Strong teaches “Connection Mini Intensive:  How to connect, communicate, and listen like never before.  Creating Conversation, exploring this connection, turn every dance into an exciting conversation.  She will teach you techniques on how to consistently improve your connection to be a better partner.

COST: Members $25, Nonmember$30 Take all 3 classes Members $65, Non-members $80 Doors open for registration at 7 pm

Step-by-Step! Come learn to dance West Coast Swing!

Seattle West Coast Swing Club Presents: Level 2 Step by Step classes taught by awesome Dance Pro Jim Minty

When: Runs June 6th-July 4th, 5 week series on Mondays 7:30-9:30pm (yes, there is a class July 4th)

Where: Russian Community Center 704 19th Ave SW, Seattle

Deadline for class sign up May 23rd. We must have minimum of 30 students sign up prior to the deadline or we will not be able to offer this class.

Prerequisite: level 1 Step by Step series.

West Coast Swing, Step-by-Step is the instructional series developed specifically to provide the Seattle dance community with a step-by-step curriculum for West Coast Swing dancing.

These classes will give you an introduction to partnering, technique and the foundation patterns of West Coast Swing. Four levels of classes are offered throughout the year by the area’s most qualified and accomplished professional instructors;  Jim Minty, Katie Schneider, and Wren Newman. At all levels, this series is perfect for the beginning dancer and also the more experienced dancer needing a brush-up on the basics.
